Where it all started…

I set out on my professional career while still attending university, newly married and just starting to figure out what the future could be. My curiosity and desire to learn always outweighed my attention span resulting in an unsurety in what I wanted to ultimately do. Fortunately, I had the energy and passion needed for success. I applied myself, getting involved in various projects for a quickly growing healthcare provider. During this time I was involved in everything from product testing, new product development, procurement, to business operations, overseeing both field service as well as sales models. It was a wonderful place to be as someone in my position wanting to be a sponge, absorbing any and all information I can while working hard to leave an impact.

After stepping into more responsibility along the journey I ended up in leadership roles with the two largest providers in the segment who were undergoing significant growth curves in process and leadership models. With a fragmented market and lack of technologies at a time when reimbursement was being cut, it forced smaller operations out. Mergers and acquisitions quickly became a major focus and key growth strategy. After supporting several of these projects and meeting many of the small business owners it sparked my curiosity. I decided to look at other facets of healthcare and expand my understanding further.

The next several years took me into behavioral health, learning more about the unique business constraints presented in applied behavioral analysis and small community providers for general counseling and therapy. All along this journey I was often the “yes” person, taking on additional work or a new project to satisfy what is largely a personal desire to learn and understand the moving components of business and provision of healthcare. As a benefit and a burden, saying “yes” ultimately pushed me to a point where I needed a change. I had gathered a lot of knowledge and understanding (with plenty still to gain) but more importantly had formed a better understanding of my drivers or “ythos.”

In 2024 I started to get more involved in analyzing business on other scales and in other industries. I was passionate about the overall concepts of finance, operations, and business leadership and began to seek out different opportunities for partnership. From supporting financial reviews for individuals looking to buy their first business to writing my own business plans in retail and regulatory industries I found myself truly enjoying the challenge. While I found enjoyment in the challenge I found purpose in building relationships and providing meaningful impact for the business owners. Supporting community can take on many forms and supporting and growing businesses that make a difference every day is what I have found passion in.

All of this brings me here, writing my first entry and starting Ythos, my platform for bringing value.
